Clinical background
Dr. Cengiz has approximately 30 years of clinical and surgical ophthalmology experience. His clinical work has included refractive, cataract and vitreoretinal surgery. He is the founder of Vision Eye Hospital and the clinical lead responsible for CER-AI's public educational content.
Role in CER-AI
Dr. Cengiz defines the clinical questions that CER-AI is intended to organize, reviews the public medical content, and maintains the boundary between image transcription, rule-based assessment, evidence interpretation and surgeon judgment.
CER-AI was developed to make preoperative corneal ectasia risk review more structured, transparent and auditable. Its risk pathways remain separately interpretable; the software does not replace examination, image-quality review or the treating surgeon's decision.
Authorship standard
Public clinical pages identify their sources and evidence limits. Publications supporting an individual variable, scoring system or clinical concept are not presented as external validation of the complete CER-AI product. Material changes are reviewed against the cited literature and the current documented software behavior.
